Does Tony Hinchcliffe Want to Be Your Friend?

Tony Hinchcliffe is no stranger to doing things differently.

His podcast, Kill Tony - aimed at giving the stage to younger comedians for a chance to make a name for themselves - has changed the game of what can actually happen at a live show.

His standup style is controlled, specific, and viciously confident… with room for addressing the crowd when they deserve it.  His roasting is creative and brutal. I would write more on this, but I don’t want him to prove it by slamming me with something too real. When it comes to building a name for himself, he’s never had to rely on the “standard” ways of doing things.

In short, Tony is truly helping to carry the torch for innovation in comedy. And with his newest special slipping onto the Internet without warning, he can still pull one over on us.

On June 19, 2021, Tony uploaded a video to his YouTube.

It was shot on an iPhone at the La Jolla Comedy Store on March 7, 2020.

California shut down on March 8, 2020.

Tony saved this footage for over a year, quietly uploaded it on a Saturday, and made one Instagram story to promote the link, proving once again that there are no “rules” in his game.
